QC does not sit at the end of the building waiting for problems. It sits at the incoming material bay, beside the press and at the packing table — measuring, recording and stopping a batch before a small drift becomes a claim.
The QC team reports separately from production — the person measuring a batch is not the person whose output is being measured.
Paper weight, whiteness and core quality; ink batch and coating batch logged before the job is released to the press.
First-off sheet compared with the approved sample; density and registration monitored through the run.
Random batch pulled after sorting: card count, cut accuracy, lamination and box fit checked before shrink wrap.
A defect that is measured can be fixed; a defect that is argued about cannot. The flow below applies to every batch.
The affected sheets or decks are pulled out of the run and marked before anything else continues.
Material, plate, press setting or finishing step — the cause is identified before a repair is attempted.
Depending on the defect, the batch is re-finished, reprinted or replaced from stock; the schedule impact is reported.
The cause and the fix are logged against the job, so a reprint does not repeat the same mistake.

You cannot walk our floor from another continent, so the documentation has to do it for you.
