MOQ, Sampling and Lead Times: What to Expect

What 500-deck MOQ, 5–7 day sampling and 15–20 day production mean in practice, and when the clock starts.

Key takeaways

  • Standard MOQ is 500 decks per design; below 500 decks the order is discussed case by case.
  • Sampling takes 5–7 days once artwork and specification are confirmed.
  • Mass production runs 15–20 days after written sample approval — the clock starts at approval, not at inquiry.

Most first-time buyers ask the same three questions: what is the minimum order, how long does a sample take, and when will mass production finish. Here is how we work.

MOQ

Our standard MOQ is 500 decks. However, if your order is under 500 decks, our sales team will work with you to find the most cost-effective option. Boxes are usually produced together with the cards, so the box MOQ matches the deck MOQ.

Sampling

Samples take 5–7 days after artwork and specifications are confirmed. A sample is the only reliable way to judge stock, laminate and colour; approving on screen alone often leads to surprises.

Mass production

Production takes 15–20 days after the sample is approved and specifications are confirmed. Time includes printing, lamination, die-cutting, sorting and packing. Complex finishing such as foil plus gilding sits at the upper end of that window.

What can delay a project

  • Artwork that is not print-ready (missing bleed, RGB files, unoutlined fonts)
  • Changing the box or card count after proofing
  • Late approval on foil or special colours

Send us your specification and we will confirm stock, finishing, MOQ and a production schedule in writing.
